  • Price Hanna Consultants recently published a study on spunbonded polyester nonwovens, providing an in-depth analysis of worldwide and local production capacities, market demand, expenses, and financial viability spanning from 2024 to 2029.
  • The main areas consist of Greater Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, and China.
  • Coarse denier fibre is prevalent, whereas fine denier is utilized specifically for filtration purposes.

The coarse denier fibre segment dominates the spunbonded polyester nonwoven market, experiencing faster growth compared to fine denier fibre. Coarse denier polyester is primarily used in building products (such as modified bitumen roll roofing, waterproofing, and weatherisation barriers), carpet backings for automotive and modular carpet tiles, geotextiles/ground cover, and technical specialties. On the other hand, fine denier spunbonded polyester finds its major markets in dryer sheets, filtration, and other specialty end uses, according to the report.

Spunbonded polyester is made by more than 50 companies. Major producers include Freudenberg Nonwovens/Low & Bonar,          Tiandingfeng ‘TDF’ Holdings, Johns Manville, Shandong Taipeng, Berry HHS, Unitika, 3M, Toray, Shaoxing Zhejiang, Kolon, Mogul, Petsabond, Guangdong Jin Long, Toyobo, Geofabrics, and Multitexx. Some organizations are currently considering entering the market.
