Chemical or resin bonding is a generic term for interlocking fibers by the application of a chemical binder webs by saturating, coating or spraying, printing (as in print bonding) or foaming technics. Saturation chemical bonding involves complete immersion of the nonwoven web in a bath containing binder. Three variations of saturation bonding exist: screen, dip/squeeze, and size-press. Foam bonding is a means to apply binder at low water and high binder-solids concentration levels. This requires less energy in drying, since less water is used. Spraying is when binders are sprayed onto moving webs. These are used for fabric applications which
